Newview helps to update Sea Lane Cafe
Worthing’s sea front was developed in the 1800’s and reflected the town’s growth from a small fishing hamlet into a thriving seaside resort for visitors and locals alike. Fast forward to the present day and Worthing still retains its charm – in recent years the promenade has been updated and the area has benefitted from the rise in English holidaymakers choosing to stay in the country, rather than go abroad.
A sea of change for Worthing’s sea front
A familiar part of the sea front for decades has been the Sea Lane Cafe. Based on the beach at Goring By Sea, this local favourite has seating for 230, is open all year round and is proud of a commitment to locally sourced food, including fresh daily-caught fish.
As with any seaside enterprise, years of wind, rain and coastal conditions meant the cafe was in need of refurbishment. Owners Peter and Gavin therefore decided to update both the interior and exterior, in the hope of continuing to please customers well into the future.
Traditional seaside, modern performance
To enhance the familiar spot on the seaside, the Sea Lane Cafe was in desperate need of some new windows. Owners Peter and Gavin wanted to protect Sea Lane Cafe (and its visitors) from rain, wind and the cold – common occurrences owing to the beachside location.
They therefore opted for some of highest performing uPVC windows on the market, installed by Newview Windows. Newview’s professional team guided them through every step of the process – from choosing which windows would suit the cafe, to quickly installing them and offering aftercare advice.
The whole refurbishment of the Sea Lane Cafe, including the window installation, was completed in just five days, thanks to the efficiency of all involved. In terms of the windows, Sea Lane Cafe’s new uPVC casements (with top lights) provide significant aesthetic improvements which make the most of the location, in addition to performance benefits. Their thermally insulating properties means that the cafe and its location can be enjoyed even on cold Winter days or when the heavens open.
Peter and Gavin thanked all the people involved, who “in a ridiculous amount of time have achieved so much”. The owners praised Newview’s Duncan and Michelle for their hard work – the positive effect of which is already being felt by customers, with one mentioning how Sea Lane Cafe is “great on any day when you just feel you want to be beside the seaside…outdoor seating on warm days and great big windows for cooler days”. Overall the new uPVC windows provide thermal insulation, protection from the weather, enhanced views of the sea and general aesthetic improvement.
